U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on an Orlando man after he was arrested for speeding without a driver’s license.
A deputy saw a black Chevy pickup truck speed by him in the area of County Road 702 and East Kings Highway in Center Hill at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Radar showed that the driver, later identified as 20-year-old Jose Enrique Bautista, was going 55 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone.

The deputy stopped the vehicle and approached Bautista, who did not speak English. Another deputy was called to translate, and they learned he did not have a license. He could only give them his Mexico ID and his Mexican passport, the report said.
A check of his driving history showed he did not have a Florida driver’s license or a license in any other state, the report said.
As a result, Bautista was arrested for operate motor vehicle without valid license. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $500 and ICE placed a hold on him.
