Joyce Ann Burnett, 91, of Lady Lake, Florida (formerly Boothwyn, PA), peacefully passed away at home, with family by her side, on June 27, 2025.

Born In Alabama and resided in Texas, before moving to Pennsylvania, in 1950. After graduating from Chester High School in 1953, she worked in the accounting department, for Bell Telephone Company. On September 10,1955 she married the love of her life, James “Jim” Burnett and they were blessed with 5 children. She was instrumental in creating and maintaining family traditions, especially around the holidays. This is also where she would showcase her creativity through crafting and decorations.

She proudly created flower arrangements and bouquets for many of her children’s and grandchildren’s weddings. Joyce was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive wife and mother. Her passion and generosity never wavered, and she was the centerpiece of her family. Joyce cherished spending time with her husband and family, especially on vacations at the beach. She enjoyed searching the shoreline for shells to incorporate in her crafts. While residing in The Villages, in Florida, she was a member of many social groups, including Red Hat Society, Community Choir and Operation Shoebox. She found the most enjoyment celebrating holidays and special events with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, James, her parents Dewey H. and Mae E. Adcock, her 4 siblings, her Daughter-In-Law Traci (nee Spencer) Burnett and her infant Grandson Dalton Spencer Burnett.

Joyce is survived by her 5 children; Dewey (wife Irene) Burnett, Anna Mae Griffey, Jay Burnett, Cheryl (husband Jim) Stem, Tracy (husband Pat) Quigley, 7 Grandchildren; Dennis (wife Jennafer) Griffey, Shawn (wife Jennifer) Griffey, Laura (husband Tom) Drames, Jessica Stem, Kevin (wife Tiffany) Burnett, Brittney Quigley-Potvin, Kaycie Stem, 10 Great-Grandchildren; Amelia Drames, Nathan Griffey, Hunter Griffey, Julianna Drames, Carson Griffey, Braxton Griffey, Brayden Griffey, Caleb Burnett, Bryson Griffey and Colton Potvin.

The family is holding a private Celebration of Life on Friday, July 11, 2025, 9:30 a.m., at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services. 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162. The burial will be at 1:00pm at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell FL 33513.
