Thomas C. Sellers, 83, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away peacefully with his wife Patti at his side June 27, 2025, in The Villages, FL.
He was born November 1941 in Chicago, IL to Frederick and Dorothy Sellers.
After graduating from Harrison Technical High School, where he was a standout football player, Tom worked in a variety of jobs before settling in at Electro Motive Division of General Motors in La Grange, IL, where he eventually retired as a Pipefitter. Once in retirement Tom and his wife made the decision to relocate to The Villages, FL, where he would spend the remainder of his years in the warmth and sunshine.
Tom pursued a wide range of interests while residing in The Villages, including golfing, coin and stamp collecting, watching both college and NFL football, spending time with friends at his favorite OTB enjoying the horse races, and re-watching countless cowboy movies and TV shows from his younger days. Tom also enjoyed the company of others, hosting many friends and out of town visitors in his home, and would often strike up conversations with strangers as he moved throughout his daily routine.
Tom is survived by his wife Patti, his children Janeen (Greg), Tom (Catrina), his grandchildren Gabrielle (Justin), Quintin (Hannah), Alexandra (Nick), Dylan (Lauren) and Reid (Stephanie), and his great-grandchild Teddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers, William, Terrance and Robert.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday, July 7, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home, 134 N. U.S. Highway 441, Lady Lake, FL. Mass for Tom will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark The Evangelist, 7081 SE Hwy 42, Summerfield, FL.Internment will be held on Friday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park, 9100 Archer Ave, Willow Springs, IL.
