Whether you love or loathe Hooters, the excitement is undeniable.

Rick Gray of the Village of Fernandina is among the Hooters fans who have been counting down the days as Hooters prepares to open its doors in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.

Have eaten at many Hooters and love their wings, curly fries, and ice cold draft beer. People always kid about it’s really about the waitresses, but I truly like the food. I haven’t found anyplace in The Villages that comes close,” Gray said. “Excited they will be open Monday. Hopefully they last a long time. They may be a bit challenged by the labor market.”

The wings at Hooters can be ordered boneless, breaded and Daytona-style. The Original Hooters Boneless Wings are juicy 100 percent breast meat.

For the calorie-conscious, the menu includes the Hooters Salad with bacon bits, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, tomato and sliced eggs.

There are plenty of burgers from which to choose, including the Hooters Burger, the Bleu Cheese & Bacon Burger and Turkey Burger.

For the seafood lovers, Hooters serves up snow crab legs, friend shrimp, steamed shrimp and grouper sandwiches.

Hooters also offers a Kids Menu which includes grilled cheese, mac and cheese and hot dogs.
