Clinton John Bennett, 75, of Burlington, WI, passed away after a brief illness on July 1st, 2025, at Marion West Hospital near The Villages, FL.
Clint was born in Reedsburg, WI to Harold Sr. and Jewell (nee McGinnis) Bennett on July 6th, 1949.
On October 18th, 1969, Clint and Karen (nee Trussell) were married at the United Methodist Church in Wilmot, WI. They had two children, Kyle and Kym (Goers).
He attended Muskego High School before going on to Racine Kenosha Teacher’s College, graduating in 1969. Clint went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Parkside University, and his master’s degree from Aurora University.
He spent over 30 years as an educator, teaching mostly Science and Social Studies in middle school. Clint retired in 2009.
Over the years, he also worked in various restaurants as a chef, coached and refereed various school sports, and was always lending a hand to friends and family whenever needed.
Clint loved golfing, fishing, baseball, basketball, camping, cribbage, sheepshead, Euchre, woodworking and many other activities. His love of golf took him down to The Villages in Florida, where he tried to hit the course twice a day when the weather was good. He could boast about multiple holes-in-one over the years.
His years in kitchens taught him how to cook for the masses. He couldn’t make just a small amount of soups, ribs, chili, so he ended up sharing it all with the loved ones.
Clint’s kids, grandkids, and nieces benefited from his help on school science projects and social studies papers. He loved to share his knowledge of the subjects.
Travel was very important to Clint, who made his way to countries all over the world, and 49 of the 50 states with his wife and many friends and family. Clint and Karen took their kids camping on months-long summer vacations across the US.
Clint is survived by his wife Karen, son Kyle (Jillane), daughter Kymberly Goers (Paul), grandchildren Nathaniel, Sarah, Gabrielle, and Isabella. Brothers Ron (Pepper) Boyer and Bud (Becky) Bennett, and many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Jewell Bennett, sisters Geraldine Skipper and Karen Beth Frelka, and his beloved dogs Sheba and Clark.
Clint’s dedication to his friends and family throughout the years will leave a lasting impact. He kept the freezer and pantry stocked with treats for his grandkids, and the neighborhood fed with soup.
