A man with a criminal past in Massachusetts has been arrested with a fraudulent Florida driver’s license.
Paul Zilvinas Marino, 34, who lives in the PepperTree Apartments in Wildwood, was driving a blue 2013 Chevrolet Volt with an expired Massachusetts license plate when he was pulled over at 11:41 p.m. Monday on U.S. 301, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The Massachusetts native presented a Florida driver’s license to the deputy, but the deputy found that it had “a sticker-like film overlay, a faded photograph and the absence of the required holographic image – indicative of a fraudulent document.”
A check with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles showed that Marino had been issued a Florida identification card in 2024 which displayed a different photo and different signature than the ones on the driver’s license that Marino offered to the deputy. A further check showed that Marino’s Massachusetts driver’s license was suspended and he had failed to appear for a trial in Massachusetts.
He was arrested on a felony charge of fraud and a misdemeanor charge of driving while license suspended. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
