A homeowner in The Villages has been given 30 days to get his yard back up to snuff.

The home of John Corboy at 1114 Magrath Way in the Village of Sabal Chase was the subject of a deed compliance hearing Friday before the Community Development District 6 Board of Supervisors at SeaBreeze Recreation Center.

A complaint was received April 2 by Community Standards regarding overgrown grass and weeds in the rear of the property and dead/missing grass in the front of the yard. The dead/missing grass was verified as a violation, but the grass was not overgrown in the back and the weeds were, in fact, plants.

The homeowner informed Community Standards on June 20 that Massey Services was going to plug the areas of the lawn that needed it, but did not provide Community Standards an exact date of when that would take place, according to testimony presented at the hearing. During an inspection of the property on Thursday it was determined that the property remains out of compliance.

Corboy was given 30 days to reseed or resod the areas of dead or missing grass. If he fails to do so, he could face a $50 daily fine until the property is brought into compliance.
