Weirton, WV / The Villages, FL — Dominic Paravano, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Dominic was the beloved son of the late Henry and Adeline (Petrozzi) Paravano. He was preceded in death by his brother William Paravano, and by his brother-in-law Mike Grubor.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 60 years, Billie Jo (Cole); daughter Paige Paravano McKenzie; son Jason Paravano and his wife Marta; and his treasured grandchildren, George and James Dannenbaum. He also leaves behind his devoted sisters, Margaret “Margie” Yenchochic and her husband Thomas, and Marian Grubor.

Born on November 30, 1940, in Steubenville, Ohio, Dominic attended St. Paul’s Catholic Grade School and graduated from Catholic Central High School also in Steubenville, Ohio. He later continued his education at West Liberty University.

Dominic held various professional positions early in life—including at Heinz and Ford Motor Company—but his proudest professional chapter was with IBM. He worked for IBM for 25 years in Semiconductor and Magnetic Recording Head Operations in both Laboratory and Manufacturing Environments starting in Fishkill, NY, Manassas, VA, and San Jose, CA then back to his beloved Virginia where he ended his career with IBM. At IBM he made lifelong friends, traveled the world, and left a lasting impression and contributions through his work and character.

After retiring, Dominic moved to The Villages, Florida, where he embraced a vibrant lifestyle. He became one of the community’s earliest pickleball enthusiasts, took up golf, joined the sailing club and could often be found dancing on the square, making friends wherever he went.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pattie Kuzio and Sharon Benzo for the love and support they have shown Dominic over the years, and to Marian Paravano, who served Dominic his last cherished batch of homemade pasta. Special thanks also go to the caring and generous neighbors of Billie and Dominic, who went above and beyond to be there for them in recent years.

Dominic will be remembered for his sharp wit, big heart, and adventurous spirit. He lived fully and joyfully, touching all who knew him.

A funeral Mass will be held on July 25, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood, Florida (located at 5323 E County Rd. 462).

A reception will follow at the Waterfront Inn at Lake Sumter Landing to celebrate Dominic’s life.
