A homicide investigation has been launched after a man was shot dead in Summerfield.
Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday to the 17800 block of SE 21st Court, in Summerfield, in reference to a shooting.
When they arrived, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Marion County Fire Rescue also responded and the shooting victim was pronounced dead on scene.
MCSO Major Crimes detectives are working the case.
Deputies are actively working to gather information about what led to the shooting and obtain suspect information.
