To the Editor:
Short-term rentals are contrary to the theme of The Villages, they cause chaos to the immediate neighbors, disregard for the rules, excessive noise, on street overnight parking and government tax shortages due to the fact that most if not all are not paying hotel taxes.
Property values are negatively affected in the areas where the short-term rentals occur and maintenance on the units is also sub par.
Rental of any unit should not be less than a 30-day period.
