A Connecticut man was arrested after a fight with his significant other led to being trespassed from their room at a local hotel.

An officer responded to Microtel, located at 850 S U.S. Hwy. 27/441, regarding a verbal dispute around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The sole employee on duty advised that he saw 35-year-old Serfraz Khan causing a verbal disturbance in the lobby with his significant other.

The employee believed Khan was intoxicated and wanted him to be trespassed. He had also told Khan to leave the hotel, but he refused to do so, the report said.

The officer met Khan at his rented hotel room and immediately smelled alcohol on him. He admitted to drinking multiple alcoholic beverages before the officer got there. He also stumbled while walking and bumped into the walls in the hallway after getting his belongings from his room, the report said.

While leaving through the hotel’s front door, Khan yelled toward his significant other who was seated in the hotel lobby with three young children. Khan was ordered to walk away and leave the property once he was outside. He still refused to do so and was then told to put his hands behind his back, the report said.

As the officer tried to handcuff Khan, he locked his left arm in place. He refused to comply with orders to put his hands behind his back, which required a third officer to move his arm, the report said.

Khan was ultimately charged with trespass of occupied structure, resisting an officer without violence and disorderly intoxication. He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $3,500.
