To the Editor:
Trump accomplished nothing at the peace summit with Putin yesterday in Alaska. Trump embarrassed himself and our country by treating the dictator like royalty going so far as to roll out the red carpet. Putin is a wanted war criminal who brutally invaded a sovereign country killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people Even after Trump gave Putin several deadlines to stop the fighting, he thumbed his nose at him and at the American people by continuing the attacks even up to the day before the summit. It is clear that Trump had no real objectives for the summit and predictably, he got nothing. Putin got everything he wanted however. Validity, a seat at the table on US soil, a ride in the presidential limo and more. Trump demonstrated again that he is a weak leader primarily interested in promoting himself on the world stage. A man like that should never have the kind of power that he has.
