A man suspected of selling drugs attempted to flush evidence down the toilet when the SWAT team showed up at his doorstep.

The Mid-Florida SWAT team arrived at 5:30 a.m. Friday at 148 Kroll Lane at the The Groves of Lake Ella development in Lady Lake when the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit served the search warrant at the home of 22-year-old Jartavious Dwayne Coleman.

The unit found that methamphetamine had been flushed down the toilet. The unit was able to recover 5 grams of methamphetamine from the toilet.

In addition there were five pre-packaged bags of fentanyl found in a kitchen cabinet, marijuana in a closet in the master bedroom and a Glock handgun found in a nightstand in the master bedroom. A digital scale was also found in the home. He was found to be in possession of other guns, two of which had been reported as stolen in Lake County.

Coleman’s girlfriend and a young child were at home when the SWAT team arrived. Coleman said his girlfriend “had nothing to do” with any of the narcotics found in the home.

The sheriff’s office said in a statement that Coleman is suspected of selling drugs in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties.

Coleman, who is already on probation for possession of cocaine, was taken into custody on multiple drug charges. He was booked at the Lake County Jail where he was being held without bond.
