I am pleased to say that since my last musing that Judy has made tremendous progress.  She is out of her coma, and is even giving Billy directions which he loves. To make the progress that she has is amazing.

The request for everyone’s prayers has some obvious benefits in my mind. Judy is still very weak and will not be able to take physical therapy until Tuesday (August 27) because of a bank holiday in England which apparently affects everything. At this point they do not know when they will be able to return from England so, please keep those prayers coming.  I might mention that Billy is his real name not Bill. As he notes, “It says so on my birth certificate”.

As most of you know, my Musings appear on Villages-News.com usually in the Opinion section. If you read it there, and then scroll down through ads, you will find a comment section where you can express yourself. A few people do but more are welcome. There are usually a couple of guys who never like what I write. I have no problem with that as it’s their right, although I don’t know why they bother reading it, if the columns bug them. However, after my last column where I asked for prayers, they were downright malicious in my opinion. Some of the other folks who wrote said not to let the trolls bother me. Normally, they don’t, but I do think there are sensibilities that most people have, but unfortunately some seem to be very lacking in that area.

The trolls will most likely not like what I have written above, but hey I have my rights, too. I started writing my musings to send out to friends. However, one of them sent one to Meta Minton, the editor of Villages-News.com It has appeared there ever since. Actually, sometime before that it appeared in a Saturday edition of The Ocala Star Ledger that they were sending to residents of The Villages. However, it folded, but I had one benefit that a couple of folks might find appalling. That is, the Star Ledger is part of the New York Times. As a result, I was given an official badge that indicated “Reporter of the New York Times,” to wear around my neck. I still have it around somewhere. I never actually used it, but it was fun to show it to friends.

One obvious benefit of writing the musings is that I can occasionally try to help some folks. Billy and Judy are two excellent examples. I know that none of us would like to be in a hospital in England or even this country spending long hours waiting to see if your spouse would be able to be as she/he was. Billy has endured a lot, and Judy even more.  It appears that the ultimate result will be great, but there is still a period of recuperation and ultimately a return home. Thus, additional prayers would be great! Thanks for your help and concern.
