Orville Duane Burdick, beloved husband, father, and grandparent, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, just days after celebrating his 90th birthday.

Born August 4, 1935 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Glenn and Esther (Gilbertson) Burdick, then later raised by Esther and Karl Karlson. Orville spent his childhood in Janesville creating countless family memories. After High School graduation, Orville began working eventually making his career in the sales industry. During this chapter of his life Orville became the proud father of three children, Ronald, Gary, and Rebecca with his former wife, Shirley (Campbell) Burdick. Later in his life, Orville met and was wed to Mary Ann Kuechmann on September 13, 1980 in Wausau, Wisconsin then made their home in Waukesha, Wisconsin. This union allowed Orville’s family to grow to include his step-children Kevin and Kimberly Kuechmann.

Orville enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, woodworking, and decorating for the holidays with many of the decorations he handmade. After moving to The Villages in Florida in 2000, Orville remained an avid Green Bay Packers fan and became a member of the hole in one club. Another love was traveling and over the years Orville and Mary Ann explored extensively including countless trips across the country in their motorhome. Even as Mary Ann’s health declined Orville became the most loving, devoted, and sole caretaker of his wife until her passing. Everyone knew Mom and Dad were in town when their huge motorhome filled the driveways of family and friends.

Dad will be missed by his surviving sons: Ronald (Becky) Burdick and Gary (Mary) Burdick; daughter: Rebecca Burdick; step son: Kevin (Beryl) Kuechmann; step daughter: Kim Kuechmann; granddaughters: Kelli Burdick and Crystal (Craig) Green; grandsons: James, Scott, and Mark Burdick and Matthew Dillender; brothers: Kenneth (Sue) and Richard (Margo) Chipman and Tom Burdick; sisters: Linda Skillman and Charlotte Husen; 9 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Orville was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann and former wife Shirley; parents: Glenn and Esther; stepfather: Karl Karlson; brothers: Glenn Burdick, James Burdick and a Great Granddaughter Jostolen Burdick. At Orville’s request there will be no memorial service or celebration of life. Any memorials if desired may be made to a charity or organization in Orville’s name.

Dad-You will be with us always. As death may take your body, your spirit will live on with each of us in our own special way.
