A Lady Lake man was arrested for battery after allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend in her residence at Recreation Plantation.

Officers responded to a battery complaint at Recreation Plantation RV Resort, located at the intersection of County Road 466 and Rolling Acres Road, around 10:50 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Upon arrival, they met with the ex-girlfriend of 44-year-old Travis Carroll Gauthier in the garage.

She advised that Gauthier came into her residence through the garage. Once inside, he went into her bedroom where a verbal dispute took place. He intentionally pushed her down onto the bed with an open hand against her neck, the report said.

He proceeded to throw furniture in the room and went into the kitchen to throw various items onto the floor. He then started walking toward the garage with the ex-girlfriend following behind. He stopped, turned around and intentionally pushed her on the chest with open hands. She fell to the floor, striking the back of her head, right hip and back, the report said.

Gauthier was arrested on charge of battery (domestic) and transported to Lake County Jail. The Maine native was released after posting $1,000 bond.
