A Brooksville man was arrested for riding a motorcycle without a license after an improper lane change on the Florida Turnpike.
An officer saw 34-year-old Justin Kyle Fifer riding a blue motorcycle toward the onramp of the Florida Turnpike around 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

He rode to the end of the right lane and forced a left lane change by wedging between two cars to continue south on U.S. 301. The officer caught up to him and stopped him, asking for his license and registration. He handed over his license, but it had no motorcycle endorsement, the report said.
The officer asked Fifer if he owned the motorcycle, and he stated he got it the first week of August. He also presented a Florida motor vehicle title for the motorcycle. It was not properly endorsed by the buyer and not dated from the sale. He added that the seller left his motorcycle tag on for him to use while riding the motorcycle, the report said.
A check of Fifer’s license confirmed he did not have an endorsement for the use of a motorcycle. He also had a failure to appear warrant for no motorcycle license in Marion County, the report said.
Fifer was subsequently arrested on charges of fail to register motor vehicle and operate motorcycle without license as well as issued a citation for the improper lane change. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $300. He also had holds placed on him by Marion County and Texas.
