At a time like this the vitriol and hate must stop!
I read with sadness some of the comments posted on Villages-News.com regarding the recent horrendous assassination of a controversial young conservative, Charlie Kirk.
I don’t really care if you liked Charlie Kirk, what he stood for or what he had to say. He was a young man with two children and a wife who chose to dedicate his life to a cause – bringing open discussion to college campuses where open discussion had been prohibited for decades, mostly by Democrats. He took on all comers regardless of their insults and hollow responses about abortion, America and its founding based on Judeo-Christian beliefs, education in America, the first and second amendments to the Constitution and yes, MAGA. He wanted young people to question the nonsense spued from our colleges and universities’ liberal, lousy professors that allowed no dissent! Then, he wanted you to decide who was right. He was hated by the lefties because he was effective at what he did! He never shouted down his opponents, he let them talk and then let the listeners decide who had the best argument.
But the people who wrote the vile, personal attacks on Charlie Kirk probably never heard him speak, did not know him, did not understand his position, based on his faith in God, to protect the unborn from the ultimate assassination in the womb, college students from propaganda and retribution by professors or the status quo in America! He shook things up and made people think, especially young college students. For that, they wrote, he deserved what he got! Yes, they said he deserved it!
Murderers deserve what he got, rapists deserve what he got, violent attackers deserve what he got, abusers of children deserve what he got, abusers of seniors in nursing homes deserve what he got! Do they get it?
He did not deserve what he got! He did not “Live by the Sword.” Words are not swords – fools!
Anyone who posted those vile words is an ignorant moron, with no compassion or ability to empathize with the effects of such acts. They support violence as alternative to free speech. They live in a fantasy world where only their position is important to them – no questions asked or you deserve what you get – nonsense pure nonsense!
So, if you are one of them – take a moment to reflect on your comments, read them out loud to yourself! After you do and you still feel the same way – take a course in humanity because you have lost yours!
