An Apopka man was arrested for driving with a revoked license after being stopped for speeding on State Road 44.
An officer observed 54-year-old Manuel Alberto Reyes Rodriguez speeding in a Ford panel van on State Road 44 around 2:45 p.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. Radar showed he was going 53 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone.

The officer then stopped Reyes Rodriguez to ask for his license and registration. A record check revealed his license had been revoked on July 27, 2023, for being a habitual traffic offender due to four driving while license suspended/revoked convictions that stemmed from financial obligations, the report said.
Reyes Rodriguez had lived at the same address on his license since mid-2023, where the notice was received. He stated he spoke to someone at the DHSMV who said he was eligible for a business purpose license, but he never got one, the report said.
The native of Puerto Rico was arrested on charge of driving while license revoked (second or subsequent offense). He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
