A band who scored a big with the song “Roundabout” is coming to The Villages.
“An Evening with Yes,” is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 at The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center.
Yes was formed in 1968 and has sold more than 50 million records. The Grammy-winning band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
The band’s signature song is “Roundabout.”

In 1971, the band was on a roll. They released a pair of albums–The Yes Album in February, and Fragile in November. Both had been critical and commercial successes, with the latter doing particularly well in America, where Fragile peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 in February 1972.
When the band’s label, Atlantic, saw how well Fragile was doing with American rock fans and on free-form FM radio stations, they had an idea: flipping the album’s opening track, “Roundabout,” into a pop single.
It was no easy feat, as the song spans almost eight and a half minutes. After giving the tune a severe edit, Atlantic released “Roundabout” as a 3:27 single on Jan. 4, 1972. Atlantic’s plan worked like a charm. It was Yes’ highest-charting song until 1984, when the band hit #1 with “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” which enjoyed heavy rotation on MTV.
Tickets for Yes are on sale now and can be purchased at TheSharon.com or by calling (352) 753-3229.
