It’s long been debated in The Villages – should the palm trees be trimmed in The Villages?

District Property Management in The Villages has operated under the long-held philosophy that the healthiest thing for palm trees is not to trim them and let nature take its course.

As a rule, palm trees are not trimmed in The Villages.

However, residents have long complained that the untrimmed palm trees look shabby and unkempt. Residents frequently express concerns about falling debris from the palm trees.

And finally, it begs the questions as to why some palm trees are being trimmed.

Take for instance, the crew that was out Sunday, trimming the palm trees at the Brownwood Center for Advanced Health Care. Why were those trees being trimmed?
