A Weirsdale woman was arrested with fentanyl after leaving a residence known for narcotic sales on the Historic Side of The Villages.
An officer spotted 43-year-old Annessa Jane Boyd leaving a residence on East Schwartz Boulevard in a gold Chevy passenger car at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. This residence has been known for its high number of narcotic sales and use.

The vehicle began to drive on the boulevard toward Paradise Drive. However, it pulled past the stop bar into the intersection with West Boone Court before stopping. The officer subsequently stopped the vehicle and asked Boyd if he could search it, the report said.
She said no, so a K-9 unit responded to the scene. The K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics, and a search ensued. The officers removed Boyd and the front seat passenger from the vehicle before asking if they had anything on their persons that would be illegal, the report said.
Boyd stated, “I don’t have anything besides a rig in my purse.” A search of the purse revealed a hypodermic needle with about 25cc of fentanyl and methamphetamine, the report said.
A check of her driving history showed her license was suspended as of June 2 for child support delinquency. She had numerous convictions for driving while license suspended, with the three most recent being from 2013 in Lake County, 2010 in Sumter County and 2009 in Marion County, the report said.
Boyd was arrested on charges of driving while license suspended (third or subsequent offense) and possession of fentanyl. The Tennessee native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $5,000 bond.
