Childress was caught on surveillance on Aug. 2 at the Walmart at Sarasota Plaza using the self-checkout aisle where she skip scanned $57.57 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying for the items, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She had also been caught on surveillance on July 29 skip scanning $26.28 in merchandise at the same store.

Surveillance from cameras in the parking lot led to the discovery of the skip scanner’s identity. She had climbed into a gray four-door Jeep with a magnetic real estate sign. The sign displayed her photo as well as her phone number.

After she was taken into custody, she was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
