A Wildwood man in black-and-white face paint was arrested after allegedly pointing firearms at another vehicle on Interstate 75 during Halloween night.
Deputies responded to Mile Marker 318 of I-75, Lake Panasoffkee, regarding 25-year-old Troy Antonio Shell in a silver car pointing guns at another vehicle around 9:55 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy was able to find the vehicle, a silver Nissan Altima, near the mile marker and stop it. He then pulled Shell and another occupant out to be detained, the report said.
The deputy then spoke with the complainants, which included the driver and passenger in the other vehicle. The passenger advised that Shell’s vehicle was driving closely to their rear bumper and honked the horn multiple times. The complainants proceeded to change lanes, and Shell’s vehicle began driving next to theirs, the report said.
As they drove past the complainants, Shell pointed two handguns out of his window. One of the complainants stated he was wearing black-and-white face paint. Another complainant stated he saw a single firearm pointed outside of the vehicle, but he could also see Shell inside. Both described the firearms as black handguns, the report said.
A search of Shell’s vehicle revealed two small black handguns in the glovebox. The firearms had fully loaded magazines with a round in the chamber of each. The driver of Shell’s vehicle later claimed they belonged to her. She also stated Shell held the firearms up but never pointed them at the other vehicle, the report said.
Shell was ultimately arrested on four counts of possession of weapon or ammo by a convicted felon, five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and two counts of use/display firearm during felony. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center to be held without bond.
