To the Editor:
It is completely disgusting that Sumter County has chosen to “honor” a racsist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, for anything he had to say. The spineless, like-minded commissioners, elected to the board of commissioners (representing ALL citizens of this county we pay taxes to) did so “because so many people wanted to honor him.” For what?
For racism? For peddling hate? For believing it’s OK for some people to die in order to keep guns? For helping destroy this planet because climate change is a hoax? For saying that black women are too stupid to fill jobs that should go to white men? For saying that college ruins minds and is useless to society? For any of the countless hate mongering comments over his blog “career”?
If you are going to act like someone who plays the hero, at least pretend to be one. Or better – actually act like one. Don’t support hate, division, racism or others forms of ugliness to your fellow man.
And if you think this miscreant deserves to be “honored” for spewing vitriolic sewerage for years and continuously stirring the fires of racism maybe you should look at the impacts coming down the pike for our kids, your grandchildren that result from this fine intellect spitting out of his hateful mouth.
Why not honor someone deserving honor? Naming a road for an evil man does not excuse his deeds and damages. The board should be ashamed of themselves for “honoring” hate.
