A Villager who works as a veterinarian has been jailed after skipping a court date.
Kristin Ann Mahoney, 55, who lives in the Village of Fenney, was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on Saturday night following her arrest on a warrant charging her with failure to appear. She was released after posting $2,000 bond.
Mahoney is a veterinarian at Paws Animal Hospital at Laurel Manor Professional Plaza.
She is a 2000 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She practiced in New York for 24 years before joining the Paws team in 2025.
In her biography on the Paws Animal Hospital web page, Mahoney said moved to The Villages to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. She has a special interest in oncology and internal medicine. She has a border collie, named Juniper. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with Juniper, baking and crafting.
