Louis A. DeMartino, of Florida passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, at age 73. Born on April 23,1952, in Brooklyn, NY, Lou was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and uncle.

He was a loyal friend and a cherished member of the community. Lou was known for his kindness, charity, loyalty, and great stories. He was a natural competitor in tennis, pickleball, and golf, a devoted NY Yankees fan, and an avid gardener. His favorite role was being grandpa to his three grandsons.

After 20 years of service, he retired as a decorated police officer from Port Authority of NY/NJ. He always looked back at his time on the job with fond memories, especially of the men and women with whom he served.

Lou is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Terri; son Louis (Christina) DeMartino; daughter Kim (Carlos) Olivencia; grandchildren Cameron Olivencia, Carmelo DeMartino, and Matteo DeMartino; mother Louise DeMartino; sister Kim DeMartino; brother Frank DeMartino; and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father Anthony DeMartino and his brother Anthony DeMartino.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Rd., Holmdel, NJ 07733, on Saturday December 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Feeding America, or Moffitt Cancer Center.
