Eva Smart (Granny) passed away on December 5th, 2025, at her home in Lady Lake, Florida.
She was born on April 26th, 1934, in Wayne, West Virginia, daughter of the late Pearly and Letha Staley. She moved to Florida in 1949, where she spent the remainder of her life.
Joyce spent more than 29 years traveling across the United States in her motorhome. She loved fishing, boating, birdwatching, and rock-hunting.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas “Leroy” Smart, her son Randy Lee Smart and her sister, Mary Garrett.
Joyce’s memory will be cherished by her significant other, John Knowles; her son, Joe Smart (Jane) of Summerfield; her grandsons Tommy (Jessica) of Fruitland Park and Brandon (Tiffany) of Fruitland Park; her five great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Brianna, Brayden, Koen, and McKenzie; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Shiloh Cemetery on Friday, December 12th, at 11:00 a.m.
