A couple with unorthodox landscaping has claimed they were unaware of the Architectural Review Committee approval process required in The Villages.
The patio villa owned by Jairam and Durga Yerramilli at 9340 Wayside Place in the Ivystone Villas in the Village of Springdale was the subject of a deed compliance hearing this week at the District Office at Brownwood.
A complaint was received about the home on Sept. 5 by Community Standards. The couple had used concrete blocks to line the sidewalk and put down rock that extends all the way to the street.

When Community Standards spoke with Jairam Yerramilli, he claimed to be unaware of the ARC approval process for landscape modifications. He said he would submit an application to the ARC. He submitted an application in October, but it was denied.
The couple has been given 45 days to bring the property into compliance. If they fail to do so, they will face an immediate $150 fine to be followed by $50 daily fines that will continue to accrue until the property is brought into compliance.
