At about 7:30 p.m. that night, deputies responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at Dollar General, located at 15090 S. U.S. Hwy. 441, Summerfield. Witnesses reported that a man later identified as Jackson, came into the store wearing a ski mask and holding a tan and black firearm. He demanded money from store employees and threatened to shoot everyone inside if they did not comply quickly. After receiving a bag with roughly $2,000 in cash from the staff, he fled the store.

A deputy arrived on scene and saw a man matching the suspect’s description. The deputy gave chase, and law enforcement was able to apprehend Jackson in the 15100 block of Southeast 91st Court Road. At the time of his arrest, he was still wearing the ski mask. The stolen money and firearm, determined to be a EC9S Ruger, were located nearby.

Jackson was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was being held without bond.

During a post-arrest investigation, detectives learned Jackson was previously arrested in 2015 on charges including grand theft auto, false imprisonment and attempted robbery. Jackson was released from prison on Nov. 12, 2025.

He was subsequently arrested again on Dec. 20, 2025, by deputies on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, driving while license suspended or revoked, and possession of a controlled substance, receiving a $15,500 bond on those charges, which he posted.
