An unlicensed driver from Honduras was arrested on Interstate 75 in Wildwood.
A deputy pulled into the Pilot Travel Center on State Road 44 in Wildwood, around 11:10 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. While in the parking lot, he noticed a silver Toyota Corolla and checked the tag. He then discovered the registered owner, 57-year-old Santos Humberto Yanez Jimenez, did not have a driver’s license.

Seeing this, the deputy stopped the vehicle on the northbound on-ramp to I-75. Yanez Jimenez was able to hand over documentation for the vehicle but did not have a license from the United States or his home country, Honduras. He did, however, have a work visa for the United States, the report said.
Yanez Jimenez was subsequently arrested on charge of operate motor vehicle without valid license. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
