Robert Russell, 87, of The Villages, FL passed away on January 3, 2026. Born on May 12, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was the only child of James & Margaret Russell. Bob graduated from Michigan State University and married Suzanne Richard in 1961.
He was the proud & supportive father of Kevin, Christopher & Stacey and grandfather of eight grandchildren & one great-grandchild. Bob and Suzanne moved from their home in Pittsburgh, PA, to The Villages in 1999. He loved playing softball, pickleball, water volleyball & golf.
Bob had a gift for making friends wherever he went, greeting everyone by name with a friendly smile & a handshake or a hug. Bob believed a stranger is simply a soul you haven’t had the chance to know yet. He had such an amazing ability to light up a room & the caring love he displayed through his energy was one of a kind. Bob’s charismatic & active lifestyle was truly inspirational. He will be forever treasured & loved!
His family is hosting a celebration of Bob’s life at 1259 Addison Ave, The Village of Glenbrook, on Sunday, January 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Coffee & donuts will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Wildwood Soup Kitchen and/or Wildwood Food Pantry.
