A new retailer will be moving into the vacant space next to an ALDI supermarket in The Villages.
In July, the new ALDI opened its doors at Lake Sumter Landing, after the closure and conversion of the Winn-Dixie store. However, ALDI did not use all of the space, notably the old Winn-Dixie liquor store.
Now bids are being sought for the remodeling of that space, for the new tenant. The new tenant will be Dollar Tree. The renovation work is expected to begin in March.
Dollar Tree has been enjoying great success, particularly as consumers grow more cost conscious. There are now more than 9,000 Dollar Tree stores across the 48 contiguous United States. Dollar Tree is also located in seven of the 10 Canadian provinces.
There is a Dollar Tree at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages. There are also Dollar Tree stores in Lady Lake and Wildwood.
