An Ocala man was arrested after being stopped in The Villages without a driver’s license.
A deputy stopped 37-year-old David Patsy Rodriguez at the entrance to the Village of Santo Domingo of El Camino Real around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The headlight on the passenger side of his vehicle, a white 2016 Ford Explorer, was not working.

Rodriguez then advised that he believed his driver’s license out of New Jersey had been suspended and instead provided a Florida ID. Using this, the deputy learned he had never been issued a driver’s license in any state, the report said.
The New Jersey native was arrested on charge of operate motor vehicle without valid license. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
