A speeding driver in an unregistered box truck was arrested in The Villages.
Carlos Jardon Franch, 46, of Orlando, was driving a 2013 Freightliner yellow box truck at about 10:30 a.m. Monday and was traveling above the posted speed limit, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. A traffic stop was initiated near the entrance to Magnolia Plaza.
A check by the officer revealed that the temporary license plate on the truck was not assigned to any vehicle. The box truck had no registration on file.
Jardon Franch was arrested on a charges of possession of a counterfeit license plate and driving an unregistered vehicle. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $3,000 bond.
