A Wawa employee was arrested after admitting to stealing money during her shifts at the convenience store in Lady Lake.
An officer responded to Wawa, located at County Road 466 and U.S. Hwy. 27/441, regarding 32-year-old Kayle Ann Jordan of Leesburg, an employee, stealing money, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The store manager stated the business had been having cash shortages as of late. She had her loss prevention team look into it and found Jordan was seen on surveillance video putting company money in her pocket, the report said.
When law enforcement showed up, Jordan was in the office talking to the company asset project manager. She had written a statement admitting that she had taken $80 a week over the past month for a total of $320. She would take some money every time she was working, mostly in small amounts, the report said.
Jordan was arrested on charges of scheme to defraud and petit theft. The Georgia native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,500 bond.
