A Wildwood woman on probation for robbery was arrested with methamphetamine and several box cutters in her possession.

An officer spotted 43-year-old Jessica Nicole Carden driving a silver Mercury Marquis south on Mill Street around 9:55 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The vehicle’s ornate tag frame covered part of the registration sticker on the tag, leading to a traffic stop near the intersection with Moss Street.

Carden handed over her driving credentials as requested, and the officer learned she was on felony probation for robbery (no gun/deadly weapon) until Oct. 22. One of the conditions of her probation was to submit to being searched, and she was then removed from the vehicle so law enforcement could do just that, the report said.

The officer subequently discovered methamphetamine under the driver’s seat near the door frame. There were also three box cutters and a pair of black bolt cutters in her possession, the report said.

Carden advised that she did not know there were 0.2 grams of methamphetamine under her seat. She had given someone a ride from a laundromat, and she asked them to move her car. She claimed the drug was not hers and that it must have come from that person, the report said.

She still admitted to using methamphetamine in the past. She claimed ownership of the three boxcutters, which she used to work at Dairy Queen. But she knew she was not allowed to have them, as it would violate her probation. She stated the bolt cutters were hers, as well, and she had used them when her girlfriend lost the key to their storage unit, the report said.

Carden was arrested for violating her probation and possession of methamphetamine. She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center to be held without bond. The Florida Commission on Offender Review placed a hold on her custody.
