An Ocklawaha woman was arrested after allegedly taking an acquaintance’s truck for a joyride.
A deputy responded to a motor vehicle theft, later found to involve 27-year-old Sabrina Lynn Sanclemente, at Forest Lake Park in Ocklawaha around 10:10 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The truck was described as a white 1999 Ford F-150 that was stolen earlier that morning.

Upon entering the neighborhood, the deputy noticed a vehicle matching the description parked in a driveway on Southeast 187th Terrace. A closer look confirmed it was the truck in question. A male witness on scene stated it belonged to his sister, the owner of the truck, the report said.
He explained that Sanclemente was a known problem in the neighborhood, and she had stolen the truck for a joyride. He knew she was not allowed to drive the truck, so when he saw her in it near his place, he opened the door and took the keys out. He also told her that she needed to get out of the truck. He then drove it back to his residence, the report said.
Speaking next with the owner’s husband, the deputy learned he had met Sanclemente in the hospital. They had been acquaintances ever since, and she often came by. However, she did not have permission to drive the truck, the report said.
The owner advised that when Senclemente came around, she put the run on her because she did not want her on the property. She had never given anyone but her brother and her husband permission to drive the truck. Due to issues with it, she typically left the keys in the ignition and the doors unlocked, the report said.
At 3 p.m., the deputy learned Sanclemente was at the Forest Community Center, located at 777 S Hwy. 314 A, Ocklawaha. She was now wearing a blonde wig and eating lunch. She looked overly nervous about the deputy’s presence, and when asked if they could talk, she stated she did not want to go to jail, the report said.
Sanclemente went on to give an inaccurate account of what happened with the truck. She initially claimed to have permission from the owner, but she could not say who that was. She next stated that the owner’s husband permitted her to drive the truck around the neighborhood, then to St. Augustine, the report said.
When asked when he said this, she could not give a time. She first told the deputy it was given over the phone sometime in the last two days before saying it was given to her “about four hours ago,” which would put the given permission after the time of the theft, the report said.
Sanclemente further advised that she was driving the truck in the neighborhood when the owner’s brother flagged her down and took it from her. She was using it to haul a wooden board to a friend’s house, yet could not elaborate on this, the report said.
She later said something about breaking into the truck, but refused to explain. She also made several statements about how she “should have ran,” the report said.
Sanclemente was arrested and charged with grand theft auto. She was booked at the Marion County Jail without bond.
