During a traffic stop, Salenas Calix bolted from the vehicle and began running north on Buena Vista Boulevard. Deputies began pursuing the native of Mexico in a foot chase. Salenes Calix jumped a fence on the east side of Buena Vista Boulevard and began running toward the Cottages at Summerchase, which are located across from Savannah Center. He was in the driveway of a residence and attempted to jump into backyard of the courtyard villa.

The Cottages at Summerchase are located near Savannah Center.

At that point, a deputy deployed a taser, striking Salenas Calix two times. After he was tasered, Salenes Calix got into a prone position and surrendered. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and will be turned over the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
