
Mary Helen Ousley, 90 years old, of Oxford, Florida passed away on March 9, 2026, at her home.
Mary was born in Minneapolis, MN to Stanley and Helen Johnson on 4/20/1935. She grew up in Isanti, MN and went to school in Cambridge, MN. She graduated from Hamline University with a BA in Nursing and a Public Health Certificate from the University of Minnesota. She married David Ousley on 4/18/1959 in Isanti.
She worked first as a public health nurse and then as school nurse in Rochester, MN and Rice Lake, WI for the rest of her career. She was involved in her church, community and schools. She was even recognized as a WCCO radio “Good Neighbor” at the conclusion of her career! Mary touched many individuals and families. Mary’s retirement homes were in Chetek, WI and The Villages, FL where she enjoyed neighbors, friends, golfing and estate sales!
Mary is survived by husband, David; daughters JoAnn Yohn (Stephen), Jane Moodie and Diane Melcher (Tim); grandchildren Taylor Hart, Alex Yohn, Jon Moodie, Matt Melcher and Nicki Melcher; brother James Johnson (Sylvia); sister-in-law Connie Ousley; nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Springs, Oxford, FL with burial at Wadena, MN cemetery at future dates.
