An unlicensed driver from Mexico was arrested after he was stopped for having dim tag lights on his vehicle.

A deputy stopped 39-year-old Sebastian Santiago Gonzalez on State Road 44 in Wildwood around 3:20 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. His silver GMC Yukon SUV had dim tag lights, making the plate hard to read.

Santiago Gonzalez tried to give the deputy a Mexico ID instead of a license, advising that he did not have the latter. A check of his driving history confirmed he did not have a valid license, the report said.

As such, he was arrested on charge of operate motor vehicle without valid license. The native of Mexico was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
