The Villages has announced a major change to entertainment at the town squares.
The Villages Entertainment Department has announced that nightly entertainment will be moved from 5 until 9 p.m. to 6 until 10 p.m. during the summer season.
The change will be in effect from June 1 to Aug. 31 at all three town squares.
The change is being made to deal with the intense summer heat and the afternoon thunderstorms.
The bar huts at Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing, Brownwood and Eastport will be open each day at 4 p.m. Happy hour will be from 5 to 6 p.m. The bar huts will remain open until 10 p.m. each night. Sawgrass Grove will offer an extended happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. each day.
