A Lady Lake man and his Weirsdale companion were arrested with drugs after running a stop sign in The Villages.

An officer saw a white pickup truck run a stop sign at the intersection of Dustin and Devon Drives around 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Due to this, the office stopped the occupants, 62-year-old Troy Allen Laudermilch and 41-year-old Heather Dawn Douglass, in the Village of Silver Lake on the Historic Side of the Villages.

The officer asked the pair for their ID while a K-9 unit sniffed around the outside of their vehicle. A positive alert to the odor of drugs meant a search of the interior was to follow. This led to the discovery of a small digital scale, 1.5 grams of powdered fentanyl, used syringes, a glass bulb pipe with suspected drug residue, and another syringe with 0.2 grams of liquid fentanyl, the report said.

Laudermilch and Douglass denied any knowledge of the drugs or paraphernalia. Still, they were both arrested on charges of possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, the report said.

Laudermilch was booked at Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,500.

Douglass, however, had violated her probation and is currently being held without bond. Her prior arrests include drug charges in Sept. 2025 and prostitution in Dec. 2016.
