Sumter County Schools will host a student hiring fair from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., May 15, at South Sumter High School.
Twelfth graders from The Villages High School, South Sumter High School, and Wildwood Middle High School, seeking employment upon graduation, will be invited to participate. Juniors from all schools are also invited to participate in the event to explore possible summer employment or part-time/OJT opportunities.
The Sumter Student Hiring Fair has three main objectives:
- Provide access to the student talent pool for local employers seeking employees
- Facilitate a networking opportunity for local businesses with potential employees approaching high school graduation
- Create a learning opportunity for all students regarding local careers, positions available and the interviewing process
All local employers are invited to join the hiring fair. At this event, it is preferred that employers provide initial interviews for immediate or upcoming open positions to students for full-time employment (graduating seniors) or part-time employment (juniors/seniors).
To join, complete registration using this link. Employer registration will close May 4, or when capacity is reached, to allow adequate time to prepare for the event. If unable to attend after registering, be sure to email Casey Ferguson at [email protected] so another partner can share the spot.
The address for the school site is 706 N Main St. The event will be held in the gymnasium. Employer set-up will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. More information will be provided closer to the date of the event.
