A Lady Lake man was arrested when an officer spotted him driving a golf cart that had previously caused a crash.

An officer spotted a golf cart without a tag heading east on Griffin Avenue around 10:50 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. After conducting a traffic stop, he recognized the driver, 35-year-old Jacob Clark, from a previous incident where he caused a car crash in the same golf cart.

Clark was aware his driving privileges had been revoked, and he was not supposed to be on the road. A check of his license confirmed it had been cancelled on June 9, 2025, for failure to complete some requirements. It had also been cancelled indefinitely on Oct. 10, 2025, for failure to finish a traffic avoidance class and again on Feb. 10, 2026, the report said.

The Michigan native was arrested on charge of driving while license cancelled and booked at Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $500 bond.
