A Villager has been arrested on a warrant charging him with having more than one wife.
Leslie Williams, 62, who lives in the Cottonwood Villas in the Village of Tamarind Grove, was booked without bond Wednesday at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was taken into custody at his home by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.

The warrant charging him with bigamy was issued April 3 in Rockdale County, Ga.
On Dec. 9, 2025, Williams updated his status on Facebook as “Married to Cindi.” Six days later, he posted a photo of a woman with the comment, “Thanks for all the wonderful comments referencing my saved, beautiful and talented wife, Mrs. Williams! She’s saved for real, praise God!!!”

Williams also runs Leslie Williams Ministries, which operates out of a rented mailbox at Safe Ship at Magnolia Plaza in The Villages. He bills himself as “an apologist and teacher of the word of God with relevant and timely messages for the body of Christ.” He is also the author of a book, “Love Her Like This: Loving Her Has Never Been Deeper.”
