Peter shared 43 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Maria Darlene DeVogel (née Moore).

After graduating from Lowell High School, Peter proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Launch Missile Control Mechanic. Following his military service, he continued his technical career with Lear Seigler in Grand Rapids, MI. He then moved to Florida to work as an engineer for Martin Marietta, where he earned multiple promotions over 26 years. He later retired in 2005 as a Technical Manager of Engineering at Lockheed Martin in Ocala, FL. His strong work ethic and high standards were among his most defining qualities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Josephine (née Bolek) DeVogel, and his oldest brother, Donald (Maris) DeVogel.

He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren—Lyndsy, Mitchell, Corey, Colin, Zachary, Jonathan, Nicholas, and Loryn—and a great-grandfather to Alaya and Roman. He cherished his many nieces and nephews and cousins.

He had a lifelong passion for music, golfing, bass fishing, video games, classic cars, motorcycles, and classic television shows.
