Louis Wheatley, 76, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, in The Villages, Florida. Born on September 28, 1949, in Loretto, Kentucky, Louis was the son of Carl and Lorene (Ballard) Wheatley.

He grew up in Loretto and graduated from St. Francis High School. His pursuit of knowledge led him to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He later achieved a master’s degree from the University of Louisville’s Kent School in Louisville, Kentucky.

Louis dedicated much of his professional life to serving the state of Kentucky. His hard work and commitment allowed him to retire at the age of 50, leaving behind a legacy of service and accomplishment.

In his personal life, Louis was known for his intelligence, humor, and kindhearted nature. He found great happiness in gardening, fishing, traveling, and spending winters in Florida with Beverly.

Louis is survived by his beloved wife Beverly (Nally) Wheatley and their daughter Heather. He also leaves behind nine siblings, and many more friends and family, who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
