A Summerfield woman was arrested for stalking her ex-boyfriend after allegedly using GPS trackers to find him at a motel.

Alisha Lynn Saumier, 34, dated her now ex-boyfriend for more than 10 years before he broke up with her a couple of days before Monday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. They still lived together, but he wanted some space and got a room at a motel in Marion County.

He was showering in this motel room when someone began banging on his door. He checked to see who was there, but no one was outside. He then looked through his bedroom window and discovered Saumier in his truck in the parking lot. Triggering the car alarm using his key fob got her to leave the scene, after which the police were called, the report said.

The ex-boyfriend explained to a deputy that Saumier had been placing GPS trackers, one of which he handed over as evidence, on his truck and in his toolbox. He appeared concerned about her behavior and clearly wanted separation. He was also worried about how she knew exactly which room he was staying in, making him unsure if he had found all of the trackers, the report said.

The deputy proceeded to inspect the ex-boyfriend’s truck, but he did not see any signs of forced entry. The ex-boyfriend did not notice anything missing, either, the report said.

A witness later advised that she was outside in the parking lot when she saw a woman inside the ex-boyfriend’s truck. She let this woman, identified as Saumier, into the motel because she believed Saumier was staying in a room, the report said.

Security footage from the motel showed Saumier getting into the elevator in the main lobby. There was also a video of her getting into the ex-boyfriend’s truck through the driver’s side door before momentarily getting out and getting back in through the front passenger side. A light could be seen in the back of the truck, indicating she was using a flashlight, the report said.

The deputy subsequently spoke with Saumier over the phone. She stated she and her ex-boyfriend were currently dating. She knew he was working in Marion Oaks and went to find him because she had a “feeling,” the report said.

She saw his truck outside the motel and went to his room, where she caught him cheating and left. She heard his car alarm go off while in the parking lot and got into the truck with a spare key to turn it off. She ultimately admitted to previously planting GPS trackers on him due to suspicions of infidelity, but she stopped because she learned it was “illegal,” the report said.

Saumier was arrested on charge of stalking and booked at Marion County Jail where she was initially held without bond.
