Carole Ostrowski

Carole Lynn Casagrande Ostrowski, 76, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, April 20, 2026.

She was born in Canonsburg on July 3, 1949; she was the daughter of William Casagrande and Sylvia M. Casagrande. Carole graduated from Canon-McMillan High School in 1967. She graduated from The Washington Hospital School of Nursing, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Liberty State College, and a Master of Public Administration from West Virginia University. Carole later met her husband, Larry Ostrowski, at a seminar in the late 1980s.

They married on New Year’s Eve of 1990, beginning a loving partnership that spanned decades. She dedicated her professional life to nursing and public service. Carole worked as a registered nurse at The Washington Hospital and later played an instrumental role in establishing their occupational medical center. She worked as a nurse consultant for the Federal Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs before retiring. Carole and Larry purchased a winter home in The Villages, Florida, where they enjoyed life as “snowbirds.” There, they embraced the opportunity to golf year-round, one of Carole’s greatest passions. Carole was an avid and accomplished golfer.

She was a longtime member of The Washington Country Club and a multiple-time Ladies’ Club Champion. She was a lifetime member of the Women’s Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania. In The Villages, she shared her love of the game, generously taking time to teach and encourage women who were new to golf. Carole was also known for her warmth and generosity beyond the golf course. She was a wonderful cook, famous for her homemade red sauce made with tomatoes from her garden. Card playing with numerous groups was another activity that brought her joy. She loved being a mentor to many, especially to nieces, nephew, and grandchildren pursuing careers in the medical field.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Ostrowski; her stepsons, Aaron (Raney) and Daniel; her grandchildren, Ben (Lexi), Evan, and Owen; her sister, Lorraine; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Casagrande; and her stepson, Nathan Ostrowski.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nathan Ostrowski Memorial Scholarship Trust. Checks may be mailed to: First Commonwealth Bank, 428 Station St., Bridgeville, PA 15017. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Warchol Funeral Home, 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA 15107.
